Wonderful website that
challenges all manifestations of the objectification of women - including
lad's mags, pornography and pole-dancing. Well argued and researched
articles. Great starting point if you want to get more involved in
activism.

This is heartwarming to say
the least. These men meet fortnightly "to support each other in our
personal struggles to rid ourselves of sexist behaviour, discuss issues
around pro-feminism generally and to plan what kind of action we can take
as pro-feminists". They write on their blog minutes from their meetings.
Wow!

Whilst on the issue of pro-feminist men..."XY is a
website focused on men, masculinities, and gender politics. XY is a space
for the exploration of issues of gender and sexuality, the daily issues of
men's and women's lives, and practical discussion of personal and social
change. XY is one of the
best online resources on men and gender issues. XY features 200 or so
articles on key 'men's issues', from fathering and men's health to the
relationships between masculinity, class, race and sexuality, to domestic
violence. XY also includes personal stories, book reviews, and links to
related websites.
XY is guided by three principles: pro-feminism, a
commitment to enhancing men's lives, and a recognition of diversities
among men. XY starts from the belief that many of our society's attitudes
about masculinity are harmful to men and boys in a variety of ways, as
well as being oppressive to women and children. XY is a forum for men who
are seeking to build life-affirming, joyful, and non-oppressive ways of
being." Fantastic. Also the set of links from the site are
great.

This is an online shop selling vulva cushions,
pendants and other quirky items. Having a quick look at the site will help
a woman dismiss any ambivloence she has towards her own genitals caused by
misogynist slang or patriarchal guilt. It would be great to see guys
wearing these pendants to show that they are truly pro-vagina.

A gender equality group, with
roots that go back to the suffragettes. They "campaign for equality
between women and men in the UK on pay, pensions, poverty, justice and
politics." Also you can visit them to get one of these T
shirts:

This is the Feminist Coaltition Against
Prostitution. They give advice on writing to MP's for changing the law to
criminalise the demand for prostitution - i.e.- making it illegal to pay
for sex, rather than the weak laws of kerb crawling and soliciting. The
latter tends to fill our prisons with very vulnerable women with a history
of child abuse and local authority care.
Also, for people who believe in the mutuality of
sex, the notion that it could be paid for is and insult to sex itself. If
you need to pay a woman for sex, it is obvious that your relationship with
her is lacking mutuality, and even worse than that, you don't care
about the prostituted woman's feelings at all and get sadistic pleasure
from gratifying yourself at her expense.

Not for the
feint-hearted. This is a website exhibiting extreme misogyny but is a good
indication of male minds that have a disproportionate exposure
to pornography rather than real-life women. Its theraputic to go in there
and ridicule misogynists when you are bored. |
